OWS Marches Through the Streets of Soho
The scene right now as hundreds (thousands?) of protesters march up Broadway at the corner of Houston.
Where are they heading?
What will happen next?
If they occupy the MTA and I don't get home on the subway, I'mona be pissed.

ACTION FIGURE PARTY: CARMELO ANTHONY
Logan suggested we dive into the new NBA Collection available at Kid Robot, so I a dropped into the Soho location and picked up two gems-- the first, Denver Nuggets #15 Carmelo Anthony.
The second one is way too good to reveal yet, so stay tuned :)

La Cage Aux Folles live at the Hippadrome
Alright folks, I'm here in beautiful downtown Baltimore visiting Logan on the first national tour of the 2010 Broadway revival of La Cage Aux Folles. The show is playing at the Hippodrome, which has this gorgeous old sign that instantly makes me feel nostalgic.
I got to do a little backstage tour earlier when I dropped him off for the matinee. It was great to see a few of the girls (and learn that you can now follow @liliwhiteass on twitter). I'm racing back over to meet him for dinner, and then actually seeing the show, starring George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber, tonight!

Bernie is in the Theatre Hall of Fame
I was in the lobby of the Gershwin for the Wicked Day festivities (aka the pizza-out-of-a-box after-party), and noticed this shot of the incomparable Bernadette Peters.
Day By Day
The scene at intermission, as the audience is invited on-stage to take part in Holy Communion (wine flavored jell-o shots?) at the Circle In The Square Theater-- home of the new Broadway revival, GODSPELL.
Interesting note-- fresh from his appearance next door at Wicked Day, composer Stephen Schwartz was in the audience in a few rows back.

Dior GAMES
Totally obsessed with this progressive, albeit unexpected approach Dior is taking with their new visual identity.

My New Tattoo
I went to Rivington Tattoo yesterday-- the new home of my tattoo guy, Sweety.
The new shop is really beautiful. Simple, clean... dark wood floors and an amazing/ornante tin tile ceiling that is gorgeous to look at when you're getting needles full of ink drilled into your arm.
Sweety traced the bow and Mickey Mouse on carbon-transfer.... but then free-handed the rest first starting in lime green Sharpie marker.

Here's what we started out with... the bare area between my wrist
and the bottom of the clover.
And the other side.
Sweety traced the bow and Mickey Mouse on carbon-transfer.... but then free-handed the rest first starting in lime green Sharpie marker.
The workstation is kept very clean-- no spills.
After the rough outline was done, he went back with a fine tip red Sharpie, and finally a blue ballpoint gel pen.
Once he was finished sketching, I checked it out in the mirror and we quickly got started. We all know I don't have the beefiest frame, or a strong stomach so it's no surprise that I get a little woozy when I subject myself to this whole tattoo thing... but Sweety is always totally cool about it and after about five minutes I totally thought I was gonna barf.
Actually ran to the bathroom cause I-thought-I-was-gonna-puke-barf. But I didn't. I calmly went back to my chair, and he brought be a damp paper towel for my forehead and let me recline in the chair.
When the bear of a receptionist found out that I'd almost fainted he was really amazing and rushed to the bodega to grab me a candy bar. I felt like Shleby-- a reference I wasn't sure they'd get, so I didn't verbalize it.
Here's what's left of the candy bar.
And here's the final product, obviously still very raw and swollen-- but I'll totally share updated photos once she's healed.

Lost & Found
Rihanna lets us have it (yet again) with her new video for "We Found Love". It's dark and dangerous, and dares to be everything Britney's "Criminal" is not.
It's shaky, hand-held vibe and fast cuts are jarring, and the art direction makes me go-- wait, is this a Levi's commercial? And then I'm all like, no way... RiRi is a ho for Armani Jeans, right?
Right now somewhere in the world Ryan Mcginley is going "huh?".
But I dig it.
Let's break it down:
Okay, so RiRi lives in the big city, but it's kinda gloomy out-- so she's not that into it.
But she's got a fine man in her life... and he's totally artsy.
And he doesn't like that it's so bleak either.
So, they take a bath.
Together. (Love the product placement, btw)
And smoke.
Together.
Go forth.
"Levi's... getch your Leviiiii's...."
I'm not even going to dignify this with a remark.
Look familiar? See the Too Cool For Pool invite for yourself. We were way-way ahead of this one.
They eat dingy fast food.....
Things are gettin' stormy....
The try to let off some steam at an underground local skate park.
But that's not enough, so they take some pills. A lot of pills.
Their eyes go all Requiem-for-a-Dream.
The room goes crazy.
They go freak-nasty...
Great, now there's a mosh pit.
Oh, gawd-- it's just too much to try explaining. Just go watch the hot mess for your self.
PS - when do I get to make a full-time job of analyzing pop music videos.
PPS - who said the music video was a dead medium.
