Welcome to the Tragic Kingdom
I took this shot a few years back at DISNEYLAND in Anaheim, California, the hometown of NO DOUBT.
Gwen and the boys just announced that they are going back on tour, to "reconnect with the fans, to get inspired to write new music, to put out a new album..." ummmm... okay, whatever. At least this means an end to the harajuku charade.
When I was in high-school, I would drive around town with my Tragic Kingdom cd in the changer, and I would fantasize about turning the songs into an off-broadway rock opera...

Spi-Duh Man
Yeah, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is coming to Broadway. No shit. If you didn't already know that, you've missed out on months of speculation already! How will JULIE TAYMOR pull this shiz off? Is the great white way really ready for BONO & THE EDGE?? How is that British boy from "Across the Universe" going to look in red spandex???
And that little c-word EVAN RACHEL WOOD has been prancing all over the red carpet, declaring to the world that she already got the job... Boo.

SHREK
I saw this shit... er, show before x-mas, and I sat dead center in a perfect orchestra seat, and was instantly surrounded by hundreds of children. Everywhere. It was terrifying-- I mean, the thought alone of the millions of baby germs running wild in the theater made me gag.
Back to the recap: they spent a ton of money to make the computer animated film come to life on stage. The sets and props are perfect. The costumes great-- especially the fairy tale people. They performed on the View the other day, and each character's wardrobe is so incredibly detailed and witty. Kudos.
Plus, hot daddy, I mean Papa Bear-- Dennis Stowe has a cute little featured camera time. Next time, say hello to Barbara for me.
However, to say the Dragon is disappointing would be like saying that Times Square smells funny. You made everything else look good-- fix the fucking Dragon already...
The music is kind of forgettable, but somehow it works. I'm definitely beginning to dislike Sutton Foster much less than I used to. And for idiots who can work with a double negative, that's a compliment (in a casual, back-handed sort of way).
Basically, it's way better than watching, I don't know... say, an hour of the Real Housewives of NY.

Not the gay porn star, but the New American Menswear Designer Tim Hamilton. The one who won the CDFA Award.
