On a casual Saturday evening, on the upper west side-- JBH brings the heat with these damn shoes....

Looks like sleep-guilt-shopping is a success after all : )

Shutting it down...

Rest in Peace

Zelda Rubinstein
Top that!

Hey, look at this big sign.

No. It's really big. Really, really, really big.

Like, the biggest.

According to the Nokia Press Release:

"A signpost the size of two London buses will be suspended next to the capital's iconic Tower Bridge as Nokia asks Brits to map out - and point to - the nation's 'Good Things'." London, UK - October, 2009

Razzle Dazzle hum....

Well, this is still happening:

Tonight, I had the honor and privilege of joining my fabulous roommate in an evening of theater. And not just the plain, old, regular kind of theater-- no, not the kind with boring, normal actors... but this was the fabulous kind. The kind with a celebrity.

And not just any celebrity, but this celebrity is married to another celebrity-- and they just had a baby together. A celebaby.

That's a magical PR equation. She's a star, right?

Anyway, I was sitting in the second row (thanks again A!), which was kinda daunting because 1) I could see everything and the performers could all see us... and b) well you understand.

It was

great.

Did you sleep on this?

BLAME IT ON THE POP

I don't know if you're aware, but this dude DJ Earworm (that's right... 'Ear - Worm" that's his name) is like the master of mash-ups, which we all know I love deeply.

Anyway, to celebrate the Billboard Top 25 Hits of 2009 he took all your favorite juicy pop songs... and he mashed 'em all up in to one monster song.

Loves it. Mostly because it plainly proves that we are conditioned to like a bunch of stuff that all sounds the same.

It's the music of money.

So what? Who Cares?!?

I want to invite this guy to a party.

So Frosh-Faced....

I love hearing something old sound new:

Hear more from Tinchy here.

Skip the Beat

This video came out way back in 2003 -- but I love how it holds up... So simple, so easy, so stunning:

In the Ring

Hit the gym with Jean Paul Gaultier.

Thanks again to gq.com for the hook-up on all the action across the Atlantic.

Mights

The trend has been slowly creeping up the charts here in NYC, but get ready because MAN TIGHTS are about to hit big.

Dolce and Gabbana showed these looks on January 16 in Milan.

In other andro-news, Pringle of Scotland gave a wink to their kilt-loving heritage with a little manskirt action. We've also seen this appearing in mainstream advertising like this spot from H&M:

Basically, folks stick their heads into a series of holes built on the underside of a weird wooden box to experience the sights, sounds (and smells?) of winter...

Stripes On a Tiger...

... are hard to change.

But who would want to change a single thing about this amazing piece of video magic from the Noisettes. My heart has been racing over this chick all week long!

And here's an acoustic gem:

Let's Do the Time Warp Again...

Totally loving the vibe at the DSQUARED2 Fall 2010 Menswear Show in Milan.

Frank n' Furter + Jason + Blood Splatters = the future.

And although he generally freaks me out a little, though it was great to see Bill Kaulitz (the lead singer of the band Tokio Hotel) rockin' some tranny fashions, including those high heeled boots....

Andro, anyone?

Best Outfit Ever

Susan & Hall -- January 13, 2010

Susan was working some amazing fashions, so I caught her on the way to the recycling bin and forced her to take a pic for the blog. Please note that is a creme soda bottle, not an empty Corona.

Hall was there for moral support-- and because he is also very stylish.

I want this to be my life.

Michel de Broin and the biggest disco ball the world has ever seen

Passing Strangely

Tonight PBS & Great Performances aired the Spike Lee film of the Broadway production of 'Passing Strange: the Stew Musical'. The show won Tonys, the film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and is now available on dvd.

I saw the show back in the summer of 2008 on hazy Sunday afternoon, by myself, and I remember getting chills about 30 minutes into the first act. The story seemed to perfectly explain so many feelings I never knew I had. The experience was the closest I've ever come to the popular term: "church".

J'adore.

Across My Heart

In honor of Valentine's Day (which in my world is like, around the corner), I am touching back to a recent performance of Bed Bath & Beyonce from the 2009 European Music Awards held last November in Berlin.

Note the giagantor satin heart at the top of the number. Nothin' says Valen-times like a giant fuckin' heart. Top that, Taylor.

Also note, Beyonce is not afraid to get kinky. On Stage. For a second-- do you see how quickly she tries to 86 the bondage-mask like she's quitting the Incredibles or something?!?! But then that shit gets all caught up in her weave, and she's strugglin' with it... but then she's got a verse to sing... but then it's still caught. You can bet your house of dereon that Ms. Tina was getting a an hour-long session of notes after that show. She was put on probation for this one, no doubt. I bet they relegated her to lint-rolling duty for the rest of the week until she learned from her mistake.

Anyway-- the rest is balls out ahhh-mazing. Especially, the super progressive, euro-flare ending where she just lets it sizzle for a second, and ultimately breaks outta that loco smize face and turns back into the human form of B.

In a way, it's exactly like Avatar 3D.

BOYE WONDER

A while back I hinted that we'd be seeing some familiar faces on an upcoming project, and now all I'm saying is...

Queenie Was a Blonde...

Seriously... had a #nymoment tonight when I saw an original Warhol of the Queen. Owned by the Queen... In the Queen's Manhattan Penthouse apartment.

Couldn't you just die?
